FAQs

What are the hours?

During Harvest Season: (March thru October)

Saturday : 8am to 5pm

Sunday : 7am to 2pm

If you have a class field trip, large group, or special requests, feel free to reach out and we will see if there is something we can work out.

What Produce do you grow?

Our pride and joy is the apple orchard, however, we don’t anticipate apples until 2027. Our young trees were planted in September of 2025, so they do not have fruit yet.

Our other crops consist of :

Carrots, Onions, Leeks, Lettuce (many varieties), Tomatoes (also many varieties), Beets, Garlic, Cilantro, Rosemary, Oregano, Basil, Potatoes, Collards, Pole Beans, Okra, Radishes, Cucumber, Watermelon, Peaches, Plums, Blueberries, Strawberries, Grapes (ready in 2027 as well), Blackberries, Lemons, Red Navel Oranges, Navel Oranges, Pears…There may be more added to list as time/requests go on. If you have a special request please reach out and let us know.

What should I wear?

You will be doing your own harvesting, so wear something comfortable and you don’t mind getting a little dirty. This is a farm, so I would recommend closed toed shoes as there can be fire ants around.

Why are you only open on the weekends?

We are only open on the weekends, for now. Daniel and I both work Monday-Friday jobs as Registered Nurses and Farmer’s by night. As you can imagine, this is a large operation for just the 2 of us and our daughter. We are hoping to eventually be full time farmers and be able to be available to everyone for the week.

What does Surcee mean?

Surcee is a southern term, for a small gift that you give someone “Just because”. We feel like our donated fresh produce baskets are the perfect small gift to give someone…just because. We have worked with many patients in the Columbia and surrounding areas, through this we found there was a definite need for our seniors to have access to fresh fruits and vegetables to combat chronic diseases like diabetes and heart failure. The current criteria for a recipient is to be home bound with little to no support at home, because we feel these are the people that need the most support from generous donations from our farm and you!

Can I bring an animal?

We ask that all furry friends are left in the comfort of their own home. Unless they are a service animal, then of course you can bring your companion, but be prepared to show proof. We are bit of sticklers about this due to fragility of our soil around the crops, risk for insects, and other biological concerns. If you are truly concerned, please feel free to reach out.
